Robert Beswick (United Kingdowm) completed his PhD in Radio Astronomy at Jodrell Bank Observatory (JBO) in 2002 and is an active researcher across a range of extragalactic astrophysics areas.   He is the Head of Science Operations and User Support for the UK’s e-MERLIN/VLBI National facility and the Acting-Head of the Sun, Stars & Galaxies Research group at Manchester.  He is an academic staff member (Reader) at the University of Manchester’s Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics. Rob has had various active roles within many national and international projects. Most recently these include EC Horizon 2020 RadioNet, Jumping JIVE and ORP programmes, and the UK-SA funded ‘Development in Africa with Radio Astronomy’ (DARA) and their various associated projects.

Rob coordinates WP3 JA2 Seamless Performance, relating to Harmonising Services and providing Seamless Performance, and is involved in the delivery of the e-MERLIN Transnational Access programme within the ORP.
